I am Madison Smith, and I am a recruiting assistant here at Sanford Rose Executive Search- Schmidt Group. Sourcing candidates for different jobs along with organizing the database and finding candidate information, I thoroughly enjoy what I do to place people in new positions. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and I am pursuing my career in Human Resources as a Recruiter. I am detail oriented and I infuse meaning in everything I do. I have a true passion for helping guide other people. Being new in the industry, I enjoy learning about our different client companies and helping the team reach our goals.

Cajun Easy Gumbo
It's gumbo weather y'all! Time to whip out the family pot and make a Cajun Recruiter fall favorite!

  • ¼ jar of premade roux (we prefer Savoie’s Dark)
  • Holy Trinity: 1 bell pepper, 1 large onion, 3 ribs of celery, all chopped
  • 12 oz. smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 T Cajun seasoning
  • 4 c chicken broth
  • ¼ c vegetable oil
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • Fresh parsley, garnish

Directions:

  1. In a large pot cook Holy Trinity until translucent in vegetable oil.
  2. Slowly add 1 cup of chicken broth and then dissolve roux in chicken broth.
  3. Add remaining chicken broth then add sausage and chicken breasts
  4. Simmer for 2-3 hours on medium-low heat
  5. Serve with white rice and add chopped parsley to garnish
